CHS Marching Band Performs at
Magic Kingdom/Disney, Orlando Florida

SJAA students, families and instructors made some memories over the holiday break with the St. Joseph Central High School Marching Band.  100 hundred musicians, directors and chaperones (including the SJAA’s Case, Carter, Henderson and Riley families) traveled 24 hours via charter bus to perform at Disney’s Magic Kingdom between Christmas and New Years.  Students made the most of the non-stop traveling which included adventures at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Disney Springs and a day at the beach!

Disney staff treated the band to a “behind the scenes” experience in the back lots as they warmed up and prepared for their march through the Magic Kingdom.  The band looked and sound great performing the classic “On Broadway” through the Main streets of the theme park, packed with encouraging tourists. Some of even joined in following in the parade.  A truly fun and memorable experience for all!  An excellent showing from the CHS band and these well-mannered representatives of our own musical, MAGICAL city.

“We Google’d You”

We’ve now reached over 35, 5-star Google reviews!  Thank you to everybody that put in their reviews.  We so much appreciate it, but we want to get to 50 reviews.  If you haven’t yet, please consider going to Goggle, giving us a review.  We’d love your feedback and thank you so much again for helping us get over 35, 5-star Google reviews.  https://g.page/r/CZvsJULwejcCEAg/review

Student of the Month

Our January “Student of the Month” is

Karson W.!

We are so lucky to have Karson and his family with us at the SJAA.

A freshman at North Andrew, Karson is a multi-instrumentalist who travels weekly for acoustic and electric guitar lessons in the studio of Mr. Riley as well as pan, percussion, bass and guitar in the SJAA “Panorama”.  He also plays percussion in his high school band.

He can be found rocking his electric with his own, student led, heavy rock band “The Arsonists” (pictured here) who rehearse and perform regularly in our region.

Mr. Riley says “Karson is a natural musician who is also very hard working.  He is always willing to jump in to play and support others.  He sets a great example for all with his positive attitude, he’s an encouraging band mate and friend who is eager to learn all he can.  And, it just really pays off in all he does with music, his schooling and in his family.  I’m lucky to get to be his coach.”

Way to go, Karson!  We are SO proud of you!!

We’ll celebrate Karson with an Amazon gift card!

Thank you, Karson for referring your friends and family to the Academy.

Congratulations!!!
To be considered for Student of the Month, be sure to talk to your teacher about all your musical and extracurricular activities, share pictures and refer your fellow musicians to the academy.

SJAA ”Pet of the Month”!Our January “Pet of the Month” goes to
